WAC101 Writing Across Curriculum (Sec. # 31785)

Emphasis on the elements of sentence and paragraph structure, as well as the four stages of the writing process for personal and expository communication. Class activities focus on Native American history, as well as issues and concerns for Native peoples today. Prepare and write multi-paragraph essays. Assigned readings, participation in extensive workshops, and group work. Prerequisites: None.

ENG102 First-Year Composition (Sec. # 30973)

Emphasis on rhetoric and composition with a focus on persuasive, research-based writing and understanding writing as a process. Developing advanced college-level writing strategies through three or more writing projects comprising at least 4,000 words. Class activities focus on Native American history, as well as issues and concerns for Native peoples today. CRW150 Intro to Creative Writing (Sec. # 31193)

Introduction to the basic aesthetics and techniques in contemporary creative writing within a variety of genres. Introduction to the analytical concepts and terminology necessary to understand, interpret, and enact contemporary creative writing. Facilitation of writing practices and evaluation. Introduction to literature's role in society. Prerequisites: None.

ENG210 Creative Writing (Sec. # 31606)

Skills and techniques used in the production of marketable for contemporary publications that buy prose fiction, poetry, and expository articles. Note: ENG210 may be repeated for a total of six credit hours with permission of Department or Division. Prerequisites: ENG102 with a grade of C or better, or permission of Department or Division.
