WAC101 Writing Across Curriculum (Sec. # 37656)

On Your Own Time Canvas 08/24/2020 - 12/18/2020
Emphasis on the elements of sentence and paragraph structure, as well as the four stages of the writing process for personal and expository communication. Extensive journal entries, editing, and revision of written assignments. Prepare and write multi-paragraph essays. Assigned readings, participation in extensive workshops, and group work. Prerequisite: None.

ENG101 First-Year Composition (Sec. # 18803)
On Your Own Time Canvas 08/24/2020 - 12/18/2020
Emphasis on rhetoric, composition, and the writing process. Establish college-level writing strategies. Prerequisite: WritePlacer® Score of 5 or higher or a passing grade in WAC101 is required.

CRW180 - Intro to Writing Non-Fiction (Sec. # 37652)
On Your Own Time Canvas 08/24/2020 - 12/18/2020
Practice in writing creative nonfiction, including autobiography and biography, the essay, reviews, and humor using a process of invention and discovery, writing, analysis, evaluation, and revision. Combines lecture, discussion, and workshop, leading to the production of marketable quality creative nonfiction. Prerequisites: None. CRW150 recommended but not required.

ENG217 Personal and Exploratory Writing (Sec. # 37654)
On Your Own Time Canvas 08/24/2020 - 12/18/2020
Using writing to explore one's self and the world one lives in; emphasis on journal writing as a source and inspiration for public writing. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ENG101, or ENG107, or equivalent.

  • Earn credit from Scottsdale Community College. All credit is transferable to any Maricopa Community College. WAC101, ENG 101, and CRW courses are transferable to ASU, U of A, and NAU. Enrollment assistance provided by instructor.
  • Each class earns 3 SCC college credit hours upon successful completion.
  • Classes will be On-Your-Time in Canvas online due to COVID-19. All courses will have additional instructor support for students unfamiliar with Canvas.
